Salmon is one of the most popular fish options in America. I recently learned that the USA prohibits fishing for salmon from the Atlantic Sea, so if you find it in your grocery store, it will be farm raised. But the good news is, Pacific salmon is very common in the store, and you can find it both wild caught and farm raised. The healthiest option will always be wild caught.

There are four different types of Pacific salmon - Sockeye, Pink, Coho and King. Most common being the Pink variety (pictured above).
Salmon has a ton of benefits that help with weight loss and management. It is a lean protein source that is rich in Omega fatty acids, which help with heart health and combating chronic inflammation. Lean proteins also help with energy production and muscle building. It's the Omega-3 fatty acids in wild salmon that have been linked to speeding up your metabolism as well. And finally, salmon is a great source of Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, and Potassium.
I probably eat salmon at least once a week. Outside of salmon sashimi, I like to cook in my air fryer and add it to a salad.
What will your next salmon dish be?
